I’ve been fascinated by the works of other artists that use a lot of clear backgrounds to create dramatic pieces that emphasize their object(s) of interest, and have been wanting to try this myself. I’m also wanting to become more proficient at using the copper foil method of creating stained glass pieces since I imagine you can become more detailed with this process as opposed to leading. In this piece, I was inspired by the beautiful spring blooms of my iris and used this inspiration to play with a clear glass background and practice the copper foil method. It was a learning experience, but I am happy with the results!
